Went to Pulau Ubin cycling with Wenjie and Shijia yesterday, was so damn tired after that, but its like so damn fun.
Vincent was suppose to join us but couldn't in the end because he had to go remove his wisdom tooth, i hope his gums are not bleeding anymore and he's not in too much pain now... Poor thing...
Why do they call it a Wisdom tooth?? Its like you have one because you are wise, but you got to remove it coz it causes too much trouble, too much pain, then you become stupid, coz you remove "E WISDOM TOOTH"! Vincent removed 2x wisdom tooth over e course of his life, so that makes him even stupider. (Ok, i'm being lame here, but i can't help it, i don't have wisdom tooth yet, guess i'm stupid loh, then again, let me remain stupid, i can't bear e dentist @.@")
On another note, i went the island with Wenjie and Shijia, they're a couple... That makes me the "Dian Deng Pao"! =( Man, why have i been going out so much with people and their girlfriends of late? First there were Sia and his girlfriend, then them. Makes me feel kinda sad~~~
Anyway, Pulau Ubin was fun! Believe or not, its my FIRST TIME there! I've been dying to go there since like so long ago, but sadly, i never had a chance to go, coz when i was in school, i was either to busy or ignorant about such trips, or no one thought i was interested or no one around me was interested (at least i thought)! BUT I AM INTERESTED!
And i wanna go again, there are many places that i have not been to on the island yet, like the many off-roads and the Chek Jawa (because it started raining! =( ).
The Bumboat
Took the bumboat from the Changi Village Ferry Terminal, it costs only $2/trip! Its a quick trip and one hell of a ride, well not exactly hell, but the thing is, as the boat moves, we were like sitting below sea level yea, we were able to see the waves rushing behind and the boat was almost submerging into the sea! Something like this(Heh!):
waves boat waves
~~~~~<__Man__>~~~~~
Well its a cheap trip to get the feeling of crossing oceans... heh! Pulau Ubin Ferry Terminal, which i think is a recent upgrade, isn't as shabby as i though it will be.
The Bicycle Rental
$8 for a whole day of cycling! Woah~! That on East Coast Park is for 2hours loh. The lady even promise to return us some $ if we return early... Though in the end she didn't, but its ok, i don't think they really earn a lot there anyway, and they do need to eat too, its not too ex, so just leave it loh, never argued with her.
Whizzling round the island
The bike i took was pretty good, went quite fast and quite easily through all the trails, except for once when i went exploring and encounter this 75degree slope! I was like "hurf purf hurf purf" and i still couldn't move. So i gave up and walk...
Still prefered to go off-roads, but since it was our first time there, we use the main track to explore the island, and that already took up more then half our time.
I recalled 2 times when i went ahead to explore off-roads as we were not sure whether to proceed. For the first time, went to the most western off-road and hit a nice beach facing the North. Was suppose to look for this "German Maiden Shrine", but in the end after cycling for quite a distance, i still couldn't find it, so i headed back as there were waiting for me. My first off-road on the island, cool, fun and easy!
The second time was the more interesting time. Went to explore a road with this sign that says "OBS Property. No trespassing." WTH, just went lah. Now this is really off-road! Mountain trails, narrow tracks, outstanding branches like hands ever ready to rip you off the ground, rocky paths, and... e 75degree slope! I was laughing hysterically as i climb the slope on the bike, i couldn't help it...! The best of this trip is that i saw not one, but THREE wild boars! Now thats exciting, there were about 10meters away from me and scrambled when i approach them on my bike. Actually, i didn't know at that point of time whether i should be more afraid or them..! Luckily, army training did teach me a bit on how to handle wild boars if it does attack, so i was like.. mentally prepared? No practical experience with wild boars though... But you have to run in zig-zag if it chases u!
Still many off-roads, tracks and places yet to explore! I wanna go again! And this time, i wanna take pictures!
The not-so-fun
June holidays, so many students! Its ok for having so many students around, i like the crowd, but i don't like it when they get rowdy. Y do kids gets so overly excited when they go on trips together? There was this group from somewhere (like some NPCC group), quite a big group, and they were trekking, so their instructor made them walk in rows of 2s. They were going "left left left right..." ok... a rythmn, wat shitz, all the wrong hand wrong leg, and then make so much noise. If i were the instructor, they can forget about moving untill they know how to walk and behave properly.
So after that, went back mainland around 4+, had a light snack at Changi Village and headed home. Had a dinner appointment to meet at night... Shijia was so tired that she fell asleep on the ride home, didn't even had a chance to bid her farewell when i left...
Dinner and my first birthday present!
Went for dinner with Jiaqi and NianNian at the "Shi Nai Cha Can Ting" at East Coast Road! Its the best HK Style cafe we encounter so far (up to the standard of Miss Lim, Singapore self-proclamined professional taster of HK delicacies). Indeed its good, heard from my friend that YES933 was there yesterday night too, just that, we didn't know.
Had a really great dinner over "po fan", "gei pa fan", "ting mian" and "nai cha" and TADA... receive my first birthday present! A really cool shirt from HK! Thank you qi and niannian for being so thoughtful and knowing that i need shirts to wear for my placement! Although i never showed enough of my appreciation last night, i really do! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
Mob Briefing (today)
Went home and pop right into bed, coz of mob briefing and had to wake up early, super early! Must thank Jieming's dad for driving us, once again like old times, to the camp! Worse, my HP went flat and i haven even confirmed the meeting times with them! Omg! Luckily everything turn out fine!
Briefing was more like a meet-up session for long lost friends, nothing more. As what army always makes us do, we spent most of the time waiting, well, at least we did lotsa of catching up while waiting. Heh
Time now 2300Hrs, feeling shagged! Shall turn in, more appointments tomorrow! Plus... Laptop..! Heh!
